Title:  The Donna Wainwright Memorial Respiratory Care Scholarship Administered by The Idaho Society for Respiratory Care

Biography:  Donna was born February 7, 1941 in Caldwell, Idaho.  She was also raised in the area.  She attended Treasure Valley Community College from 1969-1971, where she obtained her Associate of Science Degree in Respiratory Therapy.  She passed the National Board for Respiratory Care registry exam.  She worked in the Caldwell Memorial Hospital in Caldwell, Idaho, Presbyterian Hospital in Denver, Colorado, Sunrise Medical Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville, North Carolina and Magic Valley Regional Medical Center in Twin Falls, Idaho.  She had to retire due to complications from scleroderma and COPD.  She died at the age of 58 on September 24, 1999 at Magic Valley Regional Medical Center, where she had been a respected employee of the Respiratory Care Department.  She is survived by her husband David, three children and seven grandchildren. 

Qualifications:

  1. Be a student in a formal CRT or RRT program and residing in the state of Idaho
  2. Completed one year of an RT program
  3. Be an AARC member
Requirements for Application:
  1. Completed scholarship application
  2. One letter of reference from a first-year RT instructor
  3. Write an essay in 50 words or less about why you have chosen Respiratory Care for your career.
Deadline: August 1 is the deadline for application.  Turn completed application, letter of reference and easy into the ISRC President. 

Scholarship Committee:  Will consist of three members of the executive board who either volunteer or are chosen by the president.

Notification:  The decision will be announced at the annual meeting and the payment of $500.00 will be made at that time or shortly thereafter. 

Restriction: Winning students will not be qualified to reapply.
